Last days in Vancouver

This picture was taken towards the end of my stay in Vancouver.
I was there for a little over a year and a half. And what I discovered was that in that time I was completely acclimated to the city. And though I missed many things about the U.S., had come to think of Vancouver as home.
It was surprisingly hard to say goodbye to the people there, to the beaches and the ocean, to the mountains and the skylines. I will miss all the cultures gathered together in one place. Canadians, Indians, Chinese, Japanese, Africans, Persians, Russians, Irish, Mexicans, Brazilians and Australians are all quite common in Vancouver. I will miss turning a random corner and stumbling onto the set of a movie or TV series. I'll miss all the friends I made, though many of them left Vancouver long before I did. And I'll miss the view from the Burrard bridge, mountains to the north, city skyline to the South and sparkling water down below.
But by the time I left, I felt that my time had come. Perhaps I will visit the city again but I thinks it's time for new vistas, and new challenges. I am hoping to find myself in California before long, another place that I've always wanted to visit. But for now it's home to Michigan to create new animations for my demo reel, and continue my work on my writing.
I think that one of the most amazing things about life is the fact that we don't know what tomorrow will bring...

DaVinci Volpe

Welcome. For those that have followed my VFS blog thank you for your time and interest, and I'm sorry I haven't written anything new in so long. Somewhere along the way the demands of school devoured all of the spare time which I used to write those blogs. But school is over now. I have three certificates and two demo reels to show for it. Not a bad haul for a year and a half's work, I think.

Now I will be working on my demo reel and looking for a job. But I also wanted to start blogging again. I want to keep sharpening my writing skills and, quite frankly, I miss the clacking of the keyboards that has been such a large part of my life since I was about ten or eleven years old.
What you'll be reading: Well, in this new revamped blog you'll be reading opinions. Those of you that know me, know that I'm a man of many opinions. I have a theory on just about everything, about the way the world works, and why it works the way it does. I don't suppose that my theories are more or less accurate than anyone else's but I like to postulate 'em.
You'll be reading Writing Samples. When I write something new, I will try to post it on this blog, provided I can bring it to a level that I feel is fit for internet publication.
You'll be getting artwork and photography two more of my interests and maybe...
Travel blogging, sports blogging and Anything else that strikes me blogging. If I find something that I love, such as food or a great book, or a cool place to hang out I will throw that up here as well, and maybe take a shot or two at doing a review of the place or thing in question.
So there you have it. My new blog in a nutshell. Welcome to all those new to the blog, and for those of you that have stuck with me this far, thanks again.
I'll see you next time,

-DaVinci
